Red Hat's Sales Engineering organization is seeking a Solution Architect (SA) to support
Middleware/JBoss Sales efforts. The SA team is responsible for architecting solutions, presenting
compelling recommendations, and convincing prospective Red Hat customers to leverage industry-
leading Open Source solutions. As our ideal candidate, you are a top technical expert with strong
business acumen who is can present executive lT leadership with a compelling business case to invest
in Red Hat solutions. Our Solution Architects are seen by our customers as seasoned, technical experts
of our technology. You will collaborate with the sales team and technical delivery teams to bring our
customers the best solutions from across the RHEL Product Suite including Virtualization, Cloud
Computing, Migration Center, and more.

• Provides pre-sale technical marketing support for the development and implementation of customer
applications
• Answers technical portions of RFP/RFIs
• Conducts live demonstrations of JBoss software products
• Educates prospects on the capabilities of JBoss software products
• Identifies the appropriate technologies to solve client problems
• Forms relationships with clients technical staff to identify new opportunities Represents Red
Hat/JBoss to the customer and the customer to Red Hat/JBoss in sales-related matters

• Java programming, 5+ years
• J2EE programming with application servers (JBoss, Weblogic, Websphere, etc.), 5+ years
• Technical translator (ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences)
• Good presentation skills (to small and large groups of mixed audiences: business, technical,
management)
• Knowledge of application architecture (MVC/model-2, patterns, JDBC, CVS, build management,
etc.)
• Knowledge of enterprise architecture (UNIX, RDBMS, MOM, LDAP, clustering, etc.)
• Pre sales / sales-engineering experience a plus but not required
• Fluency in English and willingness to travel
• Bachelors degree
