Job summary

The Red Hat Sales team is seeking an experienced sales engineer to join us as a Cloud Infrastructure Solutions Architect. In this position, you will be the front-line catalyst who creates possibilities, solves problems, and establishes working relationships with our customers. You'll discover and analyze our customers' business and technical needs, and collaborate with the Sales and Technical Delivery teams to help customers invest wisely in the best solutions from across the Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization (RHEV), and cloud solutions to allow their systems to run faster and more efficiently. As a Solutions Architect, you will need to have excellent communication and people skills, as you'll be a crucial part of the first in-depth experience our customers have with Red Hat. We'll also need you to have a balance of technical expertise, passion for open source, and a thorough understanding of business processes.

Primary job responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Sales and Technical Delivery teams to bring our customers the best solutions from across the Red Hat cloud infrastructure solutions portfolio
  • Discover and analyze customers' business and technical problems and connect the appropriate Red Hat solution that aligns to their needs
  • Provide pre-sales technical support for the development and implementation of complex products and solutions
  • Use deep product knowledge to provide technical expertise to sales staff and the customer through sales presentations and product demonstrations, and prepare detailed product specifications
  • Follow standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be obtained
Required skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a track record of developing relationships at engineering, commercial, and executive levels
  • Ability to interpret customer business problems and technical issues and effectively explain how a solution will align to the customer’s needs or requirements
  • Knowledge of enterprise solutions and architectures (e.g. cloud, Big Data, virtualization, storage, RDBMS and ERP (Oracle, SAP), clustering, and high availability)
  • 5+ years of experience in sales engineering, consulting, IT architecture, or equivalent supporting enterprise accounts
  • 5+ years of integration or development experience with UNIX and Linux system administration
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%
  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), VMware VCP, or ITIL certifications are a plus
